Fix Adopt Save

What is Fix. Adopt. Save.?

The Alliance for Companion Animals, a coalition of seven animal welfare agencies in Arizona, are working together to spearhead a comprehensive three-year plan to tackle Maricopa County’s homeless animal problem helping both animals and communities in the process.

Fix

Dramatically increase low-cost and free spay/neuter services available in targeted areas to reduce shelter intake and euthanasia. These services will focus on at-risk animals such as cats, pit bulls and Chihuahuas as well as dogs and cats in certain geographic areas.

Adopt

Increase the number of adoptions by creating more retail adoption centers, fostering more kittens until they are old enough to be adopted and focusing on adult dogs who need a little extra training or medical care.

Save

Encourage responsible pet ownership and provide resources to those in our community as we aim to “change the equation,” for homeless animals in Maricopa County. For every 100 homeless animals who are adopted in Maricopa County, 100 others are euthanized. This equation is simply unacceptable.
