Volunteer

Anthem Pets has rescued thousands of dogs and cats since its humble beginnings in 2005 and we could not have done this without our dedicated team of Volunteers and Fosters. Every member, including the Board, is an unpaid volunteer.

To keep up with our volunteer and foster needs, we encourage you to ‘Join’ our Anthem Pets – Volunteers & Fosters Facebook page. You can also see the events at which we need help on the Events webpage.

Essential Volunteer Positions

Intervening on behalf of pets in need is very rewarding, but requires people who can work independently and dedicate themselves to the task at hand. We most URGENTLY require Cat Adoption, Dog Adoption and Lost & Found Coordinators, which are some of the most important jobs within Anthem Pets. They are rewarding positions, but require commitment and we need 2-3 people to share each position and provide backup.

We need volunteers in each position described below. Please write AnthemPets@Yahoo.com or call 480-287-3542 if you have any questions, or wish to help. When ready, please fill out a VOLUNTEER RELEASE FORM.

Explanation of Time Requirement:

High – A level of work may be needed each day
Medium – A level of work will be needed each week
Low – A level of work will be needed each month

Lost & Found Pet Coordinators – HIGH

This position is vital to daily operations. The coordinators will respond to lost and found pet calls and posts to confirm the location and coordinate pick-up when necessary. We need 4 volunteers to share the responsibility and rotate coverage which currently is two weeks on, four weeks off.

Volunteer Coordinator – MEDIUM

The Volunteer Coordinators make the first contact with new volunteers. They welcome the new volunteer, provide information about the rescue and learns about the volunteer’s interests. The coordinators will try to meet with new volunteers in person, casually over coffee for example. This is essential to ensure that volunteers feel welcome and to find a roles within the rescue that suits them.

Events Coordinator – LOW to MEDIUM
