Barb’s Birthday – Pet Supply Drive

Barbara Ward-Windgassen was an Anthem resident who began seeing more and more abandoned pets during the housing bubble of the early 2000s. She started saving pets and gathered like-minded pet lovers together to coordinate the process of rescuing, providing vet care and facilitating adoptions. Barb and her group filed Articles of Incorporation and in August 2006 Anthem Pets was registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Sadly, Barb lost her battle with cancer in 2013, but her dream of saving cats and dogs continues to this day. We will never forget the humble beginnings of Anthem Pets, and the lesson that so much can be achieved when caring people take action.

In memory of Barb and in celebration of her birthday on September 18, please support the Rescue with a donation of Kitten and Puppy supplies. Wet/dry kitten food, dry puppy food and kitty litter are all supplies that are currently needed the most.
